Yuichi Hirako (b.1982, Japan) has been exploring the coexistence and interdependent relationship between nature, flora, fauna, and humans with his own elaborate lexicon of symbols. He combines painting, sculpture, and installation to create three-dimensional representations of the themes in his work.
Seeding(2024) offers a metaphorical narrative on current global environmental issues and their potential consequences, expressed in a distinctive and playful aesthetic language. Rendered in his distinctive and playful aesthetic, the “boat” supports a diverse community of life forms that depend on it. While it initially evokes a joyful journey, it also reflects the relentless coverage of current events, prompting us to consider our place in the world.
