GRACE

Gallery Baton presents its reopening exhibition, GRACE, at its newly expanded space in Hannam-dong, Seoul, from September 18 through October 10, 2026. Bringing together artists represented by the gallery, the exhibition brings into focus Baton’s broad artistic spectrum through works that encompass diverse subjects and artistic practices.

Presented across two exhibition floors, G1B and G2B, the exhibition brings together significant works and recent productions by the participating artists, highlighting points of intersection between distinct artistic practices. Chun Kook-kwang’s The Inner Mass (1987) exemplifies the distinctive formal language of Korean contemporary sculpture. Liam Gillick presents new installation continuing his sustained investigation into structures and relations, while Jonathan Monk introduces new work that pursue a conceptual approach to the reconfiguration of artistic forms. Huh Dal Jae and Bin Woo Hyuk take nature as a subject of painting, approaching the landscape through distinct pictorial perspectives and techniques. Rinus Van de Velde’s charcoal drawings, which fill an entire wall, unfold an individual narrative world in which the fictional and the real intersect. Lee Jaeseok and Minyoung Choi construct distinctive pictorial images rooted in personal experience and imagination. In Below the Deep South (2021), Noémie Goudal explores geological time and changes in the natural environment through images of a tropical forest that are gradually consumed by fire.

Encompassing a range of media including painting, sculpture, and moving image, GRACE marks Gallery Baton’s expansion into its new Hannam-dong space and brings together a broad range of contemporary artistic practices and works that the gallery has introduced over the years.
